This indoor sports facility brief was extended to include music rehearsal rooms and recording studios. The building was stacked over two levels of undercover parking to resolve overland flood issues, the varying access levels for the existing College buildings and provide conformance to disability code requirements. The building is orientated to use breezes available at the semi-coastal site location with these being channeled in a cross flow configuration thereby not having to rely on air conditioning for competitor or occupant comfort. The users can adjust the large roller shutters that line the building to open or close the main hall at will depending on season and time of day to suit use.
