An existing suite of seminar rooms, located at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital (RBWH) in Herston, was transformed into an open plan office with support facilities for the University of Queensland’s (UQ) Centre for Medical Education.
The centre provides a flexible work environment combining open plan workstations, individual offices, meeting room and flexible utilities with break out spaces.
Custom carpet was designed and implemented within the space to define key areas. This created easily identifiable spaces within the building whilst maintaining a high level of transparency. The spacious feel is complemented by a lighting design that provides definition and visual brightness while minimising screen distraction and reflectance.
Careful selection of materials and fittings has resulted in a high level of amenity to create a sense of impact and identity for the centre.
