Construction begins on new Beaudesert Courthouse

In 2023 Phillip Smith Conwell’s team Lisa, Brett, Alan, Cheong, Simon, Greg and Jeska, designed and documented the new Beaudesert Courthouse.

Construction is now well underway. The 1969 courthouse has been demolished. The new courthouse is now rising at a pace, the floor slabs are poured, the steel framing has been erected, the brickwork has started and the roof should be on before Christmas.  The project is tracking according to program and construction is forecast for completion in mid-2025. The new courthouse seeks to fulfill the Department of Justice’s modern service delivery demands and to do so will feature safe access to the Court for vulnerable users, a victim-safe room, and secure custodial access to the adjacent Beaudesert Police Station.

PSC have designed numerous Beaudesert landmark buildings including hotels, retail, private residences, ambulance stations, and the town Civic Centre.  The Beaudesert Courthouse is one of a number of new PSC civic building projects on track to be realised in 2025.

In 2025 PSC will celebrate 120 years of continuous Architecture practice in Queensland.
