This project houses the water testing laboratories of the Gold Coast City Council and a new Griffith University research institute devoted to the study of water quality and recycling. In addition to labs, it contains workshops, external lab spaces and boatsheds. Intensive discussion with two culturally different users was required to produce a common vision and ensure maximum sharing of the facility. We have further refined our unique highly flexible lab benching system on this project. The original project brief was $5M over budget however delivered on budget while achieving all original functions and staff accommodation without compromising flexibility and operational efficiency.
